Medora Espy papers, 1897-1983.

Over 900 letters and cards, including those exchanged between Medora Espy and her parents, relatives, and many friends, chiefly written between 1908-1916; several diaries kept by Medora (1911, 1914 and 5 v., 1915); funeral cards, relating to the death of Medora; schoolwork (1911-1915); Olympia High School and Portland Academy yearbooks; Espy family correspondence, relating to the death of Medora Espy and other subjects; and miscellaneous items. Many subjects are included throughout the correspondence and diaries including school work, daily activities, sewing and clothes, boys, relationships, social activities, outings, dances and parties, skating, and other topics of interest to a teenage girl. The 500 letters between Medora Espy and her mother are slightly different and toned down comparing to her correspondence with friends and often relate to the making and buying of clothing.
